I was born in Kars in 1965. After a childhood enriched with Eastern culture and traditions, I completed my youth and educational life in Ankara. The most significant influence on the cultural and academic shaping of my life was the education and environment I experienced at Ankara Science High School, from which I graduated in 1983.
I gained the scientific, ethical, and deontological elements and values of the medical profession at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Ophthalmology at Hacettepe University. In 1996, I continued my research and studies for two years in the United States at Washington University’s Eye Clinic, focusing on 'Pediatric Eye Diseases.' Following these intensive professional training processes, I continued my academic activities at Pamukkale University (PAU) in the Department of Ophthalmology. I became an Associate Professor in 1999 and a Professor in 2005 while also serving as the Chief Physician and Associate Dean at PAU.
Nearly all of my 30-year professional career has been spent in the Department of Ophthalmology at Pamukkale University in Denizli. During this time, thousands of physicians, including nearly 50 ophthalmologists and faculty members, were trained. I enriched my academic career with 47 international and over 100 national articles and presentations, as well as successfully completed BAP and TÜBİTAK projects. Between 2006 and 2023, I oversaw the establishment and development processes of the Denizli Gözakademi Hospital as its medical director. The hundreds of thousands of patient examinations and tens of thousands of surgeries I performed during this period, together with our professors, specialists, and assistants, became our shared experience and greatest asset.
As of 2024, I have opened my own fully equipped eye clinic in Denizli with the aim of serving not only Denizli but also the wider region and our country, without compromising ethical and deontological values. In this new chapter of my professional journey, in addition to offering the highest level of scientific and technological care to my patients with a sense of social responsibility, I will continue to share my 'trust and good medical practice' experiences with my colleagues.
